A few customers have been telling me that my furniture is expensive and somewhere else in Mysore, it is 50% less than what I charge, and I am like, what 😮.
I sell a sofa set for Rs. 85,000. The same thing cost Rs. 45,000 in Mysore.
Just to clear off any apprehension, I suggest that we do the math together. Sit down, please 😊
A 3+1+1 sofa will consume at least 10 to 12 cubic feet (CFT) with some turnings and carvings work. Ask your carpenter if that is right.
The cost for Rosewood timber is Rs. 5000 per CFT.
So 5000 x 10 CFT = 50,000 (cost of wood). Please show me if anyone is selling less than 5000 per CFT.
Carpentry cost: 26,000
GST @ 18% (You cannot avoid GST)
Transportation: 3000 (to Bangalore).
Wood+
Carpentry+
GST+
Transportation
= Rs. 89,000
I haven’t added my margins. Let’s add 5000.
The grand total would be: Rs. 94,000
Now tell me, how is someone selling for half the price? These are impossible figures.
SOMETHING LOOKS FISHY!
On a side note, I can show you documentary proof of every purchase from the Karnataka Forest Department. I mean, each piece of wood is legally procured and there is 100% no chance of any malpractice.
Do you see my reasoning?
Give me a call (91 93412 46505), and let’s discuss this further
Thank you
